Know exactly where
your team’s hours go.

Time Tracker Software HQ pairs a desktop timer for Windows, macOS and Linux with a web console for projects, teams, roles and reporting. Your people press Start; you get an auditable record you can filter, correct and export.

  • Desktop timer for Windows, macOS & Linux
  • Keeps counting offline, syncs on reconnect
  • Every organization’s data kept separate
  • Two-factor authentication built in

What you get

Everything a team needs to account for its time

Not a stopwatch bolted onto a spreadsheet. A tracker your team will actually run, and the administration around it that makes the numbers trustworthy.

One click

A timer, not a timesheet

Pick a project, pick a task type, press Start. Nobody reconstructs their week from memory on Friday.

Offline first

The clock does not stop with the Wi-Fi

Intervals queue locally when the network drops and sync when it returns. Each carries its own key, so a retry never doubles an entry.

Fast to use

Searchable project & task pickers

Type to filter instead of scrolling. Task types narrow to the project you picked.

Out of the way

Runs in the system tray

Minimize the window and the timer keeps counting from the tray.

Context

Notes worth reading later

An optional description on every interval, spell-checked and editable while the timer runs.

Structure

Projects and task types

Define the work once and assign task types per project. Deactivate a project without losing its history.

People

Teams

Group members so a team lead can correct their own team’s entries and nobody else’s.

Multi-organization

Several organizations, one login

Belong to more than one organization on a single account, and switch between them in the web console or the desktop app.

Reports

Filter the log, not your memory

Narrow the record by person, project, task type, date range or description text.

Export

Straight out to Excel

Export the filtered range to a spreadsheet for invoicing or payroll.

Accountability

An activity log behind it all

Every change to a project, user, role or time entry is recorded, and traceable to whoever made it.

Product tour

A closer look at the two screens you will live in

The desktop timer your team runs every day, and the log report you review at the end of the week.

The desktop app

Start in two clicks, from the tray

Installed on Windows, macOS or Linux, the tracker signs in once and stays out of the way. Every control below is a real one.

  1. 1
    Organization picker

Only shown when you belong to more than one, and locked while a timer runs so an interval cannot land in the wrong place.

  2. 2
    Project and task type

Both searchable, and task types are limited to the ones assigned to the project you picked.

  3. 3
    Description

Optional and spell-checked. Editable while the clock runs the text is read at the moment you stop.

  4. 4
    Pending sync banner

Says how many intervals are still waiting, with a button to push them once you are back online.

  5. 5
    Start / Stop

One button. Minimize to the tray and it keeps counting; signing out mid-interval asks first.

Log reports

Every hour, filterable and exportable

The record your team produces all week, in one screen you can slice without writing a query.

  1. 1
Filter on what you actually care about

Person, project, task type, date range, or a word from the description.

  2. 2
    Duration worked out for you

Start, end and elapsed time on every row. No subtracting timestamps by hand.

  3. 3
    Export the filtered range

The spreadsheet holds the rows on screen same filter, same dates, nothing extra to delete.

  4. 4
    Corrections, with a paper trail

Permissions decide who may edit their own entries, their team’s, or everyone’s. The activity log keeps the before and after.

How it works

From signing up to your first report

Four steps, no onboarding call, no implementation project. Most teams are tracking real work the same afternoon.

  1. 1

    Create your organization

One form covers the organization and your own admin account. Confirm your email address and you are in. Already have an account? Use it to add a second organization and switch between them.

  2. 2

    Set up the work

Add your projects and the task types that go with them, group people into teams, and hand out roles so everyone can do their job and no more.

  3. 3

    Your team starts the clock

They sign in to the desktop app, choose a project and task type, and press Start. It sits in the tray, and it keeps counting whether or not the connection holds.

  4. 4

    Review, correct, export

Filter the log at the end of the week, fix anything that needs fixing, and export the range to Excel for invoicing or payroll.

Security & trust

Built so the numbers hold up

Time records get used to bill clients and pay people. That only works if the data is separated properly, changes are attributable, and the record cannot quietly drift.

Two-factor authentication

Time-based codes from any authenticator app, with single-use recovery codes for the day a phone goes missing.

Roles and permissions

Fine-grained permissions per organization, so a team lead can correct their team’s hours without touching users, roles or billing data.

Organizations stay separate

Projects, teams, task types, roles and time entries are scoped to the organization that owns them. Belonging to two never mixes their data.

A change history that sticks

Creates, edits and deletions across the workspace are written to an activity log, so a corrected entry can always be explained.

No double-counted hours

Each interval carries a key minted when the timer stops. A dropped connection, a retry or a later manual sync all collapse onto the same record instead of billing the client twice.

Deletions ask twice

Destructive actions require the account password again, and records are retired rather than erased, so a wrong click is recoverable.

What it costs

Nothing, while we are in early access

No tiers to compare and no card to enter. We would rather have your feedback than your credit card details right now.

FAQ

Questions people ask before signing up

An email address. Creating an organization and your admin account is a single form; once you confirm your email you can add projects and invite your team straight away.

Windows, macOS and Linux. Builds are published for all three, and the app is the same on each, the same timer, the same tray behaviour, the same offline queue.

Download links live inside the app: sign in and you will find the build for your platform there.

Nothing is lost. The timer keeps running locally and the finished interval is queued on that machine, with a banner showing how many are waiting. When the connection returns they go up automatically, and there is a Sync button to push them on demand.

Every queued interval carries the key it was minted with, so a retry updates the record that already exists rather than creating a duplicate.

Yes. A single account can belong to several organizations, and you switch between them in the web console or from the picker in the desktop app. The data never mixes: projects, teams, roles and reports always belong to one organization.

To add another organization to an account you already have, sign up again using the same email address and password.

Yes, and who may correct what is a permission. Depending on their role, someone can edit only their own entries, their team’s, or every entry in the organization. Whichever it is, the change is written to the activity log.

Any filtered range of the time log exports to Excel, pick the people, projects, task types and dates you want, then export exactly that.

No. Every project, team, task type, role and time entry belongs to one organization and is only ever queried within it. Inside your organization, roles and permissions decide who sees what.

Yes, the whole product, for every seat, while we are in early access. There is no card to enter and no feature held back for a paid tier. If that changes we will tell you well in advance.
